The Battle of the Boulevard 10K is the only road race permitted to run up and down Wilson Boulevard, a main thoroughfare in downtown Arlington, Va. It is also the only large-scale long-distance road race held exclusively in Arlington County. The 2nd running of the race will be held on May 10.
The race features an out-and-back course that begins heading east on Wilson Boulevard through the densely populated neighborhoods of Clarendon, Courthouse and Rosslyn. The course drops onto Highway Route 110 (which is the same road as the start of the Marine Corps Marathon) where runners will pass Arlington National Cemetery and will have partial views of national monuments.
Runners will make a large turnaround near the Pentagon and head north back onto Route 110 and onto Wilson Boulevard.
The Battle of the Boulevard 10K will benefit the National Kidney Foundation of the National Capital Area and the Arlington YMCA.
